System level multi-board design


In order to allow electronic designers to work intuitively and without stress in complex advanced designs, Design Force makes full use of the latest technologies such as multiple processors, multi-threading, 3D graphic engines (GPU), and 64-bit native support, unencumbered by the norms of existing CAD systems. In addition to dramatic improvements in arithmetic processing, display speed and operational performance, its user interface has been completely redesigned.


Through its overwhelming power and dynamic editing capability, using three dimensional display of the board's vertical structure, Design Force provides strong support for designers involved in the design of the latest technologies such as inner layer mounted components and 3D mounting. In addition, it allows verification and design of multiple boards including connecting parts and different design elements such as chips, packages and boards as a system.

Design Platform for Electronic System Simulation and Verification


Design Force's multi-object design environment utilizing 3D, allows seamless 2D and 3D viewing and dramatically improves operations that verify structures such as vias, surfaces and routing in multiple layers which is difficult to get a clear picture in 2D. It also allows for easy system level analysis and verification of signals and grounds, across multiple boards and between boards and packages.


Integration with CAE tools
Design Force's modern architecture exhibits high compatibility in integration with a variety of external analysis and verification tools for SI/PI/EMI, thermal and stress. In addition to using Zuken's original SI/PI/EMI simulation engine, which is included in Design Force, through integration with external tools from Agilent, ANSYS, AWR, and CST among others, you can construct the best analysis and verification environment for your design needs.

此外,还可进行并行设计,即多名设计人员同时进行设计,按领域、芯片、封装、PCB板等目标,或者根据组合等进行并行设计, 提高设计的工作效率。


可以与外部系统进行开放式协作,也是Design Force的一大特点。还可以用通用格式从其他系统输入CAD数据、网表、限制条件等, 或者从Design Force直接输入输出ODB++数据。还备有与PLM等系统进行协作的通用API。



Flexible Design Flow and System Integration


Because Design Force has an architecture which can flexibly handle a variety of design flows, you can construct the best flow for your design process.
In addition, it makes possible concurrent design with multiple designers, contributing to improved design efficiency, through concurrent design that suits the requirements of working on individual partitioned regions, objects such as chips, packages and boards, and combinations of both.


Another feature of Design Force is its open integration with external systems. CAD data, net lists, constraints etc. can be imported from other systems in standard formats, and ODB++ data from/to Design Force can be directly imported and exported. Standard APIs which make integration with information technologies such as PLM are also provided.

The Latest Technologies and SoC/Package/PCB Co-Design


Design Force's 3D graphic technology and multi-object hierarchical design compatible editing function are perfect for the design of complex 3D structures such as embedded PCBs and composite devices. It also makes possible optimal design and dynamic editing on the same canvas of chips, packages and boards, which up until now have had to be designed separately.


[Embedded PCBs]
Through its 3D display, Design Force simplifies editing tasks such as moving active devices and their peripheral components together from the surface layer to an inner layer, and allows more efficient embedded PCB floor planning.


[LSI/package co-design]
In addition to LEF and DEF formats, Design Force now supports Si2's Open Access database. This provides increased compatibility with semiconductor design tools. A function which simultaneously optimizes I/O operations between semiconductors and packages has also been added.


[Package design]
Package design operations have been made more efficient through 3D display and special functions which handle design data specific to package design data such as bond wire, pads and dies.


[3D mounted large scale composite device design]
Design Force supports advanced mounting technologies for composite devices using interposers, mounting design for semi-conductors using TSV, and large scale composite devices combining these with SiPs.

DRAGON EX是一个可以在Design Force上追加选购件的战略型自动布线系统。从设定先进的布线战略、到利用自动支持功能的布线, 可以选择广泛的布线战略。此外,对于BGA等难以引出的元器件,可以识别最佳引出点,并自动一次生成通路的DRAGON EX的扇出路由器, 可以大幅度减少布线设计的瓶颈——大规模BGA布线的设计作业。



Powerful Auto Router


By integrating CR-5000 Lightning's automatic routing function and Board Designer's precise and interactive routing function on one platform, the automatic routing function can be used without data conversion. Design Force's powerful automatic support functions contribute to more efficient design team work and the maintenance of a high standard of quality.


Design Force's automatic routing function is equipped with functions such as "trunking" in which an automatic routing algorithm seamlessly supports single-ended, differential and bus routing from the instant the signal to be wired is selected, without selecting a command, "lengthening" which controls routing length based on a variety of routing length constraints, and "Active 45" which automatically generates optimal routing paths following the mouse's movements.


DRAGON EX is a strategic automatic routing system which can be added to Design Force as an option. It provides a wide selection of routing strategies, from the setting of high level routing strategies to routing using automatic support functions. For components which are difficult to pull out such as BGAs, DRAGON Ex's fan-out router detects the optimal pullout point and automatically generates vias all at once, greatly reducing the design work required for large scale BGA routing, which constitutes a bottleneck in routing design.
